Exquisite Image Photography

I was reading through my past posts (say that ten times fast!) and realized there has been a general lack of color in the featured photograph the past few times.  Well, I need some color!  I’ll start with an easy one so we can slowly adjust our eyes…

The featured photograph was taken a few weeks ago, and it was one of those moments where you’re glad you’ve actually got your camera with you!  I’ve been trying to carry it around more often in case of sudden inspiration.  This little guy was flitting around, and I had to move awfully slow so as not to disturb him.  I love that the wings have this lovely autumn feel to them, with just the very tiniest hint of purple.  The purple is actually what makes me love this photograph!

I’ve had a slight obsession with butterflies and dragonflies over the years.  I’ve got a few tattooed on me, and I used to collect anything I could find with a dragonfly on it!  The past three years though, it’s all kind of faded to the background, and I realized that all happened when I had my daughter!  I’ve been so busy being a mommy, I’ve forgotten to pursue some of the things I love.  It was actually my daughter who reminded me to stop and enjoy the butterflies… so we did together!
